I finally did it- I sewed a curtain for the ‘man cave’ corner of the studio. Which knocked off one more thing from my 30 Before 30 list. Friday night Chris and I were chatting, and I declared that I would lose my sanity if we did not clean up the studio’s corner of doom. When we converted our double garage into the studio, we lost all of our storage space for tools, ladders, lawnmowers, gardening stuff, and all other misc items. We eventually purchased a large outdoor storage container to hold a lot of it in, but unfortunately there was a lot left over. And it all got piled up in the corner.
It’s an odd corner too. The laundry room is just on the other side of the wall and there is a pantry on the other side. So there’s this nook in the corner that we used for storage, on some flimsy stackable shelves. We ended up taking everything out, throwing away the plastic shelves, and adding a tall cabinet there. We also threw away a lot of things and relocated a few.
I had some material laying around that my mom had given to me- with a nice black damask pattern on it. I took out my sewing machine and tried to remember how to thread it. After all, I had never sewn anything without my mom’s assistance. After about 20 minutes and 2 youtube videos later, I had finally gotten it threaded. And then I whipped up a quick curtain. And by quick- I mean it’s definitely a Monet LOL
The corner looks SO much better now, and we ended up organizing and rearranging the whole studio. It’s amazing what some cleaning and organizing can do to your mood!
Next on my list- sew curtains to cover the garage door. That’s going to be the thing that makes a HUGE difference, and I’m hoping to get it done this week!!! I already have the material, I just need some extra helping hands. (Squeals!)
P.S. What about that sweet Olivetti? Well, I decided to keep it blue!
