I should probably be a little more concerned with hurricane Gustav heading straight for us, but right now all I can do is be excited about opening up my business and Etsy shop. I decided a few weeks ago that I was going to make my idea come alive, and I have been designing and working at it nonstop. Within the first day of going live with my shop, I received a fairly large custom order for some Vegas themed birthday invitations (Thanks TeddyBaerGirl!). It’s pretty exciting!
Yesterday I got in some sample papers and envelopes from PaperandMore.com and it really has my head spinning with ideas! The samples are wonderful, and I am absolutely loving the Pearlescent Metallic Cardstock, as well as the linen. It’s so hard to get the full effect of paper online, so seeing it in your hands under the light is really amazing! Right now my goal is to create at least one new item each day until my little one arrives in October. Well, yesterday I made 3 =)
Everyone has been very supportive of my new Etsy shop, and I can’t wait until it really takes off. I am anxious to start working on some products for The Sampler. I would like to try to be in it next month, so I better get busy! I also plan on handing out some samples locally to help spread the word.
Etsy is such a wonderful community to be a part of.. what’s Ebay again? lol. I am enjoying the networking opportunities there, as well as just being inspired by all of the talented artists. I am hoping to order this little robot pendant very soon, all of her items are just adorable!
I guess that’s it for my first blog, more updates to follow!
