We’ve finally done it! We ripped the remaining carpet out of our home and installed new flooring. Chris and I spent 4 nights working our buns off- and I’m so happy with the results. Mainly with Dax’s room.
A few months back, I wrote about transforming Dax’s room from a nursery to a big boy room– and I feel like it’s finally complete. Even though we had bought new bedding and a few other things last year, his crib was still in the room as well as the carpet. And I have been wanting to remove the carpet for 4 years now. Ugh.
With my slight robot obsession, I have been on the lookout for cool robotic/spacey things for his room. I think I found some really cute items, and the new floor just makes it all clean and pretty! I took most of the toys out of his room and added them to his play room- making his bedroom more roomy and spacious. I decided to keep his bookcase and his kitchen and that’s really about it. Let me show you the transformation step by step..
1. Paint. The top half and the ceiling of the room were blue, but the bottom half was green and there was a white stripe in the middle. I was ready for a change, so I repainted his room the same shade of blue, just a tad darker.
(Sorry for the fuzzy iphone pics! I was snapping ’em as we went…)
2. Lay the underlayment for the floors.
3. Install flooring
4. Install quarter round
