So I’ve decided- Dax is going to have a Yo Gabba Gabba/ Halloween Costume party for his birthday this year. Yes, I know- it’s pretty early to begin thinking about, much less planning it, but I have a good excuse I swear! Last year my whole family was sick and we ended up canceling his birthday party. His very first birthday party =( So this year, Chris and I decided that we are going all out! I figured I better start doing a few things each month so it won’t all creep up on me. Ha.
Dax has two favorite TV shows right now, Yo Gabba Gabba and Wow Wow Wubzy. He loves to dance while watching Yo Gabba Gabba, and say “Ohhhh Wowwwww” when Wubzy is on. Too cute! If you have toddlers, I’m sure you are familiar with these shows. If not, here’s a silly clip from Yo Gabba Gabba:
I think that my husband love this show almost as much as Dax, it’s over the top with silly songs and dances.
So what’s awesome about combining Yo Gabba Gabba and Halloween? Well, there is already a Halloween episode from last year. All of the characters on the show dressed up and it ended up being pretty awesome. So I figure we can dress Dax up as one of the characters dressed up as something else. Teehee! His favorite character is Muno, so I’m debating on if I should try to get a costume made for him, or just buy him a Brobee costume.
And we’re going to have to try to make these awesome painted pumpkins, I can’t wait!
NickJr.com has a lot of cute printables, and I found some Paper Fortune Tellers to print and fold up for favors. I’d also like to turn some animal cracker boxes into BoomBoxes, as seen on Gabbafriends.com:
I also have some little bright orange canvas tote bags to decorate and fill with candy =)
As for the cake, there are so many options! Here’s one I found that looks really adorable, from Two Parts Sugar:
And keeping in mind that Halloween is loaded with candy and junk food, I’ll try to sneak in some healthy treats, like these Avocado Brobee Snacks!
I’ll keep updating as things come together. If your toddler loves Yo Gabba Gabba, be sure to show them this free-to-play Halloween Mixulator for the computer. (Just let them hit keys on the keyboard!) Dax absolutely loves it!
Now I’d like to end the post with some of my favorite Yo Gabba Gabba finds from Etsy:
